Day Nine - Psalm 142
:3 "When I am overwhelmed, you alone know the way I should turn. Wherever I go, my enemies have set traps for me."
So... if God knows the way we should turn and we do, in fact, turn that way to follow a path, the enemy will try to set traps along that way... the enemy doesn't want us to walk down the path God wants us to be on... b/c it ultimately leads to God. The enemy will do anything-- i.e., set a trap-- so we may not continue on that given path or simply turn around and go the other way. Sometimes we see the trap and can avoid it. Sometimes we can't. But this is for certain: a trap is a trap and our eyes should be cautious of them, even when traveling on the path God has us on.
Notice that David was hiding in a cave when he wrote this psalm. Was it part of a strategy to avoid the traps?
