Day Eight - Psalm 143
Fear seems to be a thread throughout this Psalm. He's afraid that God will dismiss his cries and turn away. He's unsure where he stands with God and begs God to come and "come quickly". And so, when struck with this "fear", what does the Psalmist do? Give up? Run away? Sit down and do nothing? No... he reminds himself of God's previous victories in his life (:5). After all, logic tells him that God saved him in the past so He's bound to do it again. He turned his fear into hope simply by remembering what God had done in the past.
