Day TwentyEight - Psalm 123
A servant, much like anyone who works for a boss, keeps a watchful eye on their master in case they need anything. If you've ever worked for someone, you know that you want to be there for them at any given moment so you watch them closely. You eagerly wait for them to do something or for them to give you something to do. In this Psalm, they draw the parallel of a servant watching their boss to them watching/waiting for God to give them mercy. So, what you're telling me is that they are on the edge of their seats, just waiting for God to extend His mercy? Eagerly waiting like an assistant would to their boss? Yep, because they know God will extend His mercy; so they're ready to jump on it the moment He extends it.
