Day Thiry1- Psalm 120 (The Message)

:2 - "They smile so sweetly but lie through their teeth."

Sometimes, I think that what happened in Biblical times doesn't happen today. I mean, when was the last time a person lived three days inside a whale's stomach? [Don't get me wrong, I understand that the Bible is supposed to help us and guide us through life, no matter what era we're living in.] So here, I'm reminded that there were fake people back then, too. I suppose this is a reminder that people will lie through their teeth to get what they want (in this case, they want war and the Psalmist wants peace). It's a reminder to not be deceived by smiling liars. Of course, the question now is, can you always tell when someone is lying, even though they are smiling?
