Day Thirty - Psalm 121

It seems that sometimes we look for help in places other than God. How many times have I put my hope, trust and even love in another person or object? This Psalm tells us that even if we put our dreams into other things, God will remain the same; God will continue to protect us, even when everything else fails apart. It honestly feels like He isn't protecting at times... but this Psalm reassures just how much He loves us and protects us. "The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade." -- this is a present-tense statement. It doesn't say, "He did (past-tense)" or say "He will (future-tense)". He merely doesn't want to shield us; He actually does shield us. This is God in action.
