Day Thiry8 - Psalm 113 (The Message)

:1 - "Just to speak his name is praise!"

Really? That's it? I don't have to do all these things in order to praise God?! It can be as simple as saying, "Jesus" or "God". Sometimes, when I am overwhelmed with life in general, I know I need to give praise to God/turn to God. But sometimes, it seems so hard to do (thanks A.D.D.). I think about what I would have to do: sing a 25 praise songs, read 100 verses in five minutes, pray for 5 hours, etc. But here, according to this version of this Psalm, I can merely say, "Lord God" and it is considered praise. It shouldn't replace singing and reading and praying... BUT it is a quick reminder of who is in charge. It's like wearing a rubberband around your wrist and snapping it to get your attention. "Lord God" -- snap -- praise is given and focus is restored.
